The Bounty Elite is AeroGarden's flagship countertop garden. At $329 it's nearly three times the price of a Harvest. After a full year of daily use, here's what holds up and what doesn't.

The good

  • 50W LED is the real upgrade. Cherry tomatoes, banana peppers, even a small kale bush all worked. None of that is possible on a Harvest.
  • 24-inch height clearance means the basil doesn't hit the lamp by week four.
  • Touchscreen and app are genuinely useful — vacation mode, seasonal light, automatic dimming.
  • Reservoir lasts ~3 weeks instead of the Harvest's 7–10 days.

The not-so-good

  • Pod cost adds up. $20 for 9 pods every 3–4 months. Use the "grow anything" sponges and your own seeds — same plants, $1 each.
  • The pump is audible. 42 dB — fine in a kitchen, noticeable in a quiet bedroom.
  • Footprint is substantial. 16" × 11" of counter, plus 30" of vertical height with the arm extended.

Yield data (8 weeks, mixed planting)

  • Genovese basil × 2 pods: 180g
  • Buttercrunch lettuce × 2 pods: 220g
  • Cherry tomato × 1 pod: 14 fruit (~140g)
  • Parsley × 2 pods: 90g
  • Mint × 2 pods: 120g
  • Total: 750g+ — roughly 2× the Harvest 360 over the same period.

Reliability after 12 months

Pump still runs, LED still measures full output (we metered it). One pod failed to germinate in the first month — AeroGarden replaced it free. No leaks, no firmware issues, no app outages.

Who should buy it

Anyone who's outgrown a six-pod garden and wants to grow fruiting plants indoors. If you only eat herbs and salad, save the $200 and buy a Harvest 360.
